Community
Seaport San Diego is for all of us. Since 2016, the Seaport San Diego team has been pleased to partner with many organizations and community members to host and attend over 200 meetings with residents and interest groups including the local fisherman community, environmental organizations, downtown San Diego HOAs, as well as countless interested individuals who believe in equitable access to the waterfront and creating a sustainable project that promotes the very best of San Diego.
In 2022, the Seaport Climate Science Program was launched as a pilot program demonstrating the collaboration between Seaport, the Birch Aquarium at Scripps and San Diego Unified School District. The Seaport Climate Science Program engages middle-school students in hands-on, climate science-focused field trips on the San Diego Bay. To date, the program has served more than 1,000 students from San Diego Unified School District and Sweetwater Union High School District.
